  1. I know this is late but I went to all three last year so can give a brief overview. - Independence: The first time you go they have you meet on a street corner outside a metro station. I know that sounds sort-of sketchy but it's fine. The guy will show-up and approach you and ask if you're [your name]. He then walks you back to the shop which is down a dark alley (again, I know that sounds strange, but it's Japan so is fine) roughly a block and a half away. If you go a second or subsequent time you can just go straight to the place and not deal with the pick-up. The guys are only vaguely like what they appear in the photos, by which I mean the photos were not merely smoothed but there was some very creative lighting and - frankly- amazing work by a skilled photographer. No complaints at all by me, just for your awareness. The interior of the shop is the cleanest of them all. - DG: This one doesn't have en suite showers so you are taken to the room, the guy comes in, you get undressed, then he looks out the door to make sure the hallway is clear and you go to the shower at the end of the hall. Then back again after. Only went here once. The guy was exactly how he appeared in the photo absent minor blemishes (i.e. acne). This is also a studio apparently; if you Google the Kanji character name of a guy there's a chance you might find a movie he's been in. They have a small, but multi-story, building and it appears - though I'm not entirely sure - that the guys are actually working in their call center handling customer service questions (for their video websites) when they're not with a client. At least, when I went there, I entered the wrong floor and walked into what looked like a call center, thought I was in the wrong place, but one of the guys immediately jumped up and politely took me to a room on the next floor up, got me settled, asked who I was there to see, and then went and brought him in. - TK: I went there twice and saw two different guys. In both cases, the guys were actually better-looking in person than their photos on the website, by quite a bit. Almost as if they did the opposite as what Independence did and ugo-ed them up. This is probably the most run-down -- in terms of facility -- of the three but not awful or anything. All three had condoms on-site, though they were One Size Fits Small, so you might prefer to bring your own. It seems clear that bare is not an option.

    In Uniform and Out

NOTE -- "Live and let live" is another reason why Thailand is a haven for gay men from around the world that keeps us coming back. From Thai PBS World Sereechai Sukmak is a senior sergeant major in the tourist police force in Nakhon Ratchasima province. For Thai TikTokers, however, he is ‘Phi Serg Nicky’, who has 132,400 followers. What makes him stand out from his colleagues is that he is openly gay, dresses as a female and attends parties as a drag queen when not on duty. His bosses have no problem with how he lives his life. Many times, Sereechai has represented his office in beauty contests or on sports days, as a cheerleader. He says that his family supports him in every way and has no problem with him being a member of the LGBT+ community. “I became a police officer because my father wanted me to join either the army or the police. My mother is happy when I become a lady,” says Sereechai, adding that his sister is also gay, so he told his father that he would become a daughter for him, making him smile. What is important for him is that his father recognises his abilities and as a person. “He said his only wish is that I do good,” Sereechai said. He is happy that Thai society is accepting of the gay community, unlike about 20 years ago. “When I was a new police officer, some of my colleagues did not accept my being homosexual. They said police had to look strong. They told me that they felt ashamed going out with me,” he said. Now, however, his life choices are accepted more widely, partly because he honours the uniform by acting appropriately when wearing it. Proudly, he said that, in February, he joined a Chinese New Year festival in Nakhon Sawan province as a cheerleader, carrying a ‘wan’ before a parade, adding “I volunteered to join the parade after learning that the organisers could not find any volunteer beauty queens and that hiring one would cost a lot.” “Many people asked to take photos with me, saying I was beautiful,” he said, adding that they were surprised to learn that I am a man. “My TikTok account receives some negative comments, but I ignore them because I am a positive-thinking person. Many times, my followers defend me,” he said. Talking about his TikTok account, the sergeant said that he posts video clips and photos of his work as a police officer and his off duty time as a woman. “Seeing my video clips and photos, I hope that the viewers will love the police and gay people more,” he said.

    Advice please

In all the times I've brought guys back to my hotel room, never had their IDs checked by the receptionist at the hotel. I've heard some hotels (e.g. Tarntawan) might have that policy in place but most probably don't. I think this differs between individuals but for me, a hotel is my preference when it comes to Thailand mainly because the rates are about the same with (or sometimes better than) AirBnBs, and you'd generally get better service at a hotel (e.g. breakfast, daily room cleaning, etc.).

I think I can help with a few of your questions. 3. I have a revew of OneSpa in my blog (https://shamelessmacktwo.travel.blog/2024/03/13/shagging-in-the-shabby/) 4. No need to check IDs in massage parlours. If you see anyone uncomfortably young (which I have never encountered), just ask to change the masseur. 6. More often than not, they deserve no more than the minimum. When I think they're better than average, I may add 10 - 20%. When I am over the moon (which is rare), I may add 30%. I suspect many posters on this forum are shocked that I am giving farangs a bad name by not throwing money around (isn't the superior sahib supposed to do that when meeting the destitute natives?)

  5. As often is the case with Thai journalism, it leaves more questions than it answers. 1. Any sign of a high-speed rail linking the 3 airports? Any sign of building works at least? (They must have won the contract in or before 2018). 2. Has anyone noticed that "the route has expanded to cover a greater distance since 2018"? As far as I know, it still starts at the airport and ends a Phaya Thai (and vice versa). 3. Have they restored the express line (different from the present local line) - the one which they say will have increased capacity to carry a grand 800 passangers a day, which is toughly 0.65 percent of the 123,000 passengers* a day that use Suvarnabhumi? *45 million assengers a yer divided by 365 days.

I would go to Bangkok as a first timer. Bangkok is simply more fun. There are more sights to see, food to eat and plenty to explore. I find that most thai will have some tattoos but not all are heavily tattooed. Unless u totally can't accept any form of tattoos, otherwise u should have plenty of choices. I find hotels in Bangkok are generally very affordable even around silom. Personally I would stay in a hotel rather than an Airbnb.

  10. Flew Nonstop on Thai Airways in Business class, old 777-200 tired plane, but still the best, friendliest service going. I did my e- Visa on arrival while in Bangkok and so angry at myself for not noticing an error on my passport expiry date. It self populated from the scan of the passport, but while I scrolled down, I must've changed the date without knowing. The immigration guy was super nice and great English...when he said there was a problem, I thought it was I entered my hotel address as Bali, because in my mind I was going to Bali first. But that wasn't it, was the wrong expiration date of my passport. My option was to do it online again, go to the VOA counter and he said if I had exact Indo cash, I could pay there. He seemed surprised I had IDR, I paid him...I thought it was a scam, but he gave me an official printed receipt and was easy without having to line up again. It was 500,000 IDR ($30usd) cheap mistake but still mad at myself for being so careless. I had forgotten how much time from the airport into Jakarta, 1 hr. Grab was about $20usd. By the time I got into my hotel and unpacked, it was raining, I just watched some youtube and chatted on some apps and went to sleep. Next day I was looking on Grindr and someone in the same hotel on a work trip hit me up...a nice 25 yr old guy sent me his pics, but since he was with a large group of people from his job was really shy about meeting, be we did have fun. The thing that is annoying here, since it's a Muslim country, most everyone is deeply in the closet. Using fake profile pics or old pics. When they do send you a pic, it's always an expiring one....Lots of free action and massage guys. One guy asked for a million and I laughed at him, everyone else was 400k-500k.$25-32usd. Did a live chat with a 26 yr old, looked latino to me and we made plans to come over. I'm staying at the DoubleTree and they have an executive lounge with free drinks....he's not a big drinker but had 2 beers and got tipsy, cheap date! He gave a 2 hr amazing massage and GREAT sex....he came about a liter, or so it seemed. He said he hadn't had sex in a long time. This is the advantage over Thailand, where sex is like a job, here it's a treat 😁 I ended up going with him again 2 more times...why keep searching when you found something so good? No expensive drinks, no crazy off fees but not as convenient as Thailand. The gay disco Apollo that I went to last time here, has closed, Covid victim. He said there are a couple of places frequented by gay guys...the cover is about $15usd , is a little far from my hotel, no thanks. Indonesia is so affordable....I had a fat attack and wanted McDonald's, the food was piping hot and fresh, a double cheeseburger combo mean and a filet o fish sandwich was $5....that would easily be $15 is Thailand or USA. One Grab motorbike ride was 35 cents USD and another was $1,01. While walking in the street, almost everyone looks at me, like I'm an alien, kind of strange, but there aren't many westerners here, especially walking in the streets. Tomorrow I'm taking the luxury executive train to Surabaya, even fewer westerners I'm told. Is an 8 hr tip but in a business class type lie flat seat. The sights look nice from the videos I've seen, but I'm sure a couple of hours into it I'll be thinking, why the fuck am I doing this, lol

  12. From Pattaya News The Tourist Police Bureau has collaborated with CP All Public Company Limited to establish incident reporting points for tourists in 7-ELEVEN convenience stores, initially piloting in 20 major tourist destinations nationwide. The initiative aims to enhance convenience and ensure the safety of tourists, following the government’s reopening to foreign tourists and efforts to promote the country’s tourism image. The project began with training volunteers from the Strong Tourism Community, as well as security guards and employees of 7-ELEVEN stores, to assist tourists effectively. Participating 7-ELEVEN branches will have designated reporting points and trained staff ready to provide information and coordinate with the Tourist Police. 7-ELEVEN stores are easily accessible and open 24 hours, making them ideal locations for incident reporting points to aid tourists promptly. This project represents a collaboration between the public sector, private sector, and communities to enhance safety and foster a positive image of Thailand in tourism.

  13. I also felt that Emma Stone was hands-down the best actress in a leading role. A lot of pundits thought they'd give the Oscar to Lily Gladstone, since no Oscar has yet gone to a Native American woman, and it seemed there was political pressure to make history. However, I think there was little question but that ES's role was far more challenging than LG's character, and ES showed a wider array of emotion and talent. LG did fine, but I definitely felt ES outshone her competition. Kudos to the Academy for doing the right thing (at least IMHO).

  21. From Thai PBS World A large group of Thai LGBTQ+ people rallied in front of a hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 11 in Bangkok late Monday night, reportedly to confront a group of Filipino LGBTQ+ people following a violent incident early yesterday involving members of the two groups in front of a food shop near the Nana BTS station. A member of the Thai group alleged that about 20 Filipino LGBTQ+ members attacked four Thais and then posted a clip of the incident on social media, in a way they considered to be an insult to the Thais. Two Thais were injured in the incident. They said that the rally was intended defend the dignity of Thai LGBTQ+ people. Officers from Lumpini police station were dispatched to the scene, to prevent the confrontation from intensifying, and invited the two groups to the police station to settle their dispute, with the promise of justice for both sides. Pol Col Yingyos Suwanno, the police superintendent, reportedly said that he would check the papers of the Filipinos, to find out if they have work permits. He then urged the Thais to disperse, a request with which they complied.

    Advice please

I must add a reflection on the Bangkok/Pattaya conundrum for newbies. For me, Pattaya would be a better place to start if "offing" is your prime purpose. It is smaller, though growing by the day, and I'd bet my bottom dollar that there are more willing professional guys per punter there, encouraged by-another guess of mine - that more of them don't have day-jobs. There's also Jomtien beach; not exactly Phi Phi but pleasant nowadays. It's a good place to spend a sunset hour, as more and more people are discovering. My boyfriend and I ate in The Sandbar a couple of nights back- it also has a bar- and the scene on the promenade outside had an almost Mediterranean feel. Some posters prefer BKK because it has many popular bars which offer the more manly type of guy, in which case BKK is undoubtedly the better bet. But for twinks? and almost twinks? In my view, no contest. By the way, Pattaya is, as Kokopelli says, significantly cheaper.

    Egypt update

Thank you so much for all your detailed and flavorful posts. A lot of contradictory information but I guess that’s related to each one’s perception of danger and risk. So can we assume the following: 1. The local police doesn’t really punish tourists 2. Lots of locals are gay for pay but there are also genuine gay sex lovers 3. Although it’s prohibited by law, some international 5-star hotels don’t check on guests 4. Most Egyptian guys are average hung with certain outliners going over 10 inches. lol. And the bigger they are the longer they last ?

    British pound hits 46

It will only take a further rise of 10 Baht to get us back to where we were before the ridiculous Brexit vote to leave the European Union. The day before that day of madness we were getting 56 Baht to the pound and the day after the vote it fell to 36 Baht to the pound.

    British pound hits 46

There was a point during Brexit when the pound was falling and I was hoping it would come down to the Canadian dollar level so I could afford a proper trip to the UK... I went once and ate mostly french fries and argued with restaurant servers who refused to bring me tap water. But sadly that crisis is over... so I'll never get to see grampa's birthplace or the farm where my grandmother's family came from. Just kidding I don't care... but still, it's expensive.

  30. So you have NO verified evidence at all. Why am I not surprised? Now you're retreating and backing down. You write "a very large number." Does that equal "tens of millions"? 🤡 Here's a tip for you, clown: The word proven itself requires verified evidence. Otherwise, it's false. 🤣 🤣🤣 Conclusion: You have absolutely no facts, data, or evidence for your constant refrain of "tens of millions." Therefore it's false.

  35. hey, I messed up all the names while using my cell phone. I just realized that my title has a typo. Can a moderator fix it for me? Please, I meant "São Paulo," not "Sau Paulo.:( my report will have a lot of typos, i meant Espaco Lagoa Sauna. i took the picture during bingo time. The weather is fantastic. It's hot, but bearable. It was supposed to rain, but it didn't. I was able to exchange Brazilian Reals at a great rate. However, I did encounter some trouble using Banco Santander. Usually, I use the one in Paulista Avenue Shopping Center 3, which is very convenient. For some reason, it didn't work this time. Thankfully, at the intersection of Paulista Avenue and Consolação, Pao de Açúcar Supermarket, at R. da Consolação, 2581, there's an ATM that gave me all the money I needed. I discovered this while going to a place called Cabines Bar Paulista. It opens at 2 pm, but every time I've been there, it's been empty, it has glory holes and cabins. However, on my previous trip, I was able to buy poppers there. Luckily, I brought them with me this time because the guy didn't have any. He said he would have some on Friday, so I plan to stop by to buy some for Rio. Lagoa, what a wonderful place! I forgot that the towels come in sealed plastic bags. The sandals are Havaianas, and the staff is so friendly. I arrived there a bit before 4 pm, and it was kind of empty, but it filled up quickly. There were around 20 guys, all types. I met one of my previous encounters, this kid, a light skin mulato with green eyes and such a huge cock. I made the mistake of choosing him first, and it was hard to handle, It was so big that it tore me apart, in a good way :😜. but it was fun, of course. He loves to kiss and is always very helpful, getting the key, opening doors for me, and telling me how much he likes me. I usually give him 200 reals since we spend more than 30 minutes together. Where else can you find a hot 22-year-old with a real 9-inch, beautiful, meaty cock for just $40? Then I had my eye on this handsome boy, one of the few Caucasian GPs that night. Most of them were of mixed race or black, but I'm an equal opportunist. My rules are simple: I want a full top. If not pretty, at least have a handsome face, but I prefer pretty boys and 8 inches or more. However, this pretty boy was just 7 inches, but he was so handsome that I spent most of the night with him. After such a long trip—I was on a Delta Comfort+ flight and was exhausted—I went to bed by 10 pm. By the way, that flight had some scary turbulence moments. I'm a frequent flyer, and I rarely use Delta. It was great service, but there were about 30 minutes of turbulence that I hadn't experienced before, i.e., scary ones, and i didn't get scared while flying 0.0 it was a moment that I was, like, ok, this is it. We are going down, lol. but once we all fell asleep, it was fine. the airport in jfk and GRU in-and-outs were a breeze That's it for now. Upgrades only happen on the weekend, so I will try them this Friday. The Seven Cruising Bar says it is closed permanently; I will check if it's true. Dedalos is just okay, but I will check it out. I want to try places that I can visit between Lagoa trips, either before, in the morning, or after hours. If you have any recommendations, let me know.

  39. COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s former White House adviser and his son-in-law, praised the “very valuable” potential of Gaza’s “waterfront property," suggesting that Israel should remove civilians while it “cleans up” the area. “Gaza’s waterfront property, it could be very valuable, if people would focus on building up livelihoods,” Kushner said in an interview dated Feb. 15, posted earlier this month on the YouTube channel of the Middle East Initiative, a program of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and reported first on Tuesday by The Guardian. “If you think about all the money that's gone into this tunnel network and into all the munitions, if that would have gone into education or innovation, what could have been done?” “It’s a little bit of an unfortunate situation there, but I think from Israel’s perspective, I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up,” Kushner added. “But I don’t think that Israel has stated that they don’t want the people to move back there afterwards.”

I think so...is a different experience....no bars/go-go's to spend your money in, to speak of. There are a a few "straight" bars visited by gays, but with high cover charge for me to justify, I haven't been. Grindr kept me bus ($25-30usd) , and all the other things I wrote about....not much to do touristy, except malls, sex and movies and sex....since it's not so commercial like BKK, I think the sex was hotter....because it's not their main job and "another day at the office" routine.

  44. Finding boys in Pattaya and the gay entertainment scene in Pattaya are two different things. Finding boys was easy back then and nowadays as well just the methods change before we rely on bars and freelancers who hang out at beaches, malls and all over Pattaya and now you can find them online as well.if looking boys is your main purpose Pattaya still delivers and can be enjoyable. Regarding the gay entertainment scene in Pattaya it's nothing like it was in the past I enjoyed to walk around Sunnee Plaza it was packed with bars and restaurants the ambience was lively,Boyz Town had also many bars with great shows lots of people having fun . Dongtan beach was exclusively gay zone with lots of freelancers sitting there and gay masseurs doing massage at the beach. almost all of these are gone now the scene is still exist but dramatically declined.

  47. From Thai News Agency BANGKOK, March 5 (TNA) – Thai transgender women gathered in Bangkok downtown last night to reclaim dignity for their peers following an incident where four Thai transgender women were allegedly assaulted by a group of 20 Filipino transgender women. A thousand of Thai transgender women gathered outside a hotel in Soi Sukhumvit 11 where the Filipino transgender women involving in the brawl were staying. According to a victim’s friend, the incident occurred around 5 a.m. on Monday outside a restaurant near the BTS Nana Station. They encountered a group of Filipino transgender women with whom they had a previous conflict. A verbal exchange ensued before turning physical outside the restaurant. The Filipino group reportedly consisted of around 20 people, while only four Thai transgender women were present, resulting in injuries to the latter. The incident was later shared on social media by Filipino transgender women, causing Thai transgenders to feel humiliated. This created a significant uproar among Thai transgender community. In response, they gathered at a hotel where the Filipino transgender women involved in the case resided, hoping to resolve the issue and reclaim their dignity. Around 10 p.m., police deployed forces to maintain order at the gathering point in Soi Sukhumvit 11 to prevent further escalation and escorted three Filipino transgender women for questioning at the Lumpini Police Station. Shortly after, about 100 transgender women expressed solidarity with their peers, gathering outside the police station to monitor developments in the case. Thai transgender women, claiming to be victims, also provided statements to the police. Pol. Col. Yingyos Suwanno, chief of Lumpini Police Station emphasized fairness in their investigation for both parties. Once the culprits are identified, they will be summoned for further questioning. Authorities will also scrutinize the purpose of entry into Thailand for foreign nationals involved.

    Taipei Info/Tips?

Taipei struck me as having a shortage of gays. I warmed to it slowly, finally realizing that I liked the area around Taipei 101 best. If I had it to do over again, I would stay at the Hyatt Regency across the street. I got a massage- the only gay thing I did. The Red House didn't strike me as a gay area.
