Thankfully, no. The thing they have in common that is a positive is the idea that the working class should not be left behind.  If nothing else, Trump (who for much of his life was a Democrat) has forced Democrats to recognize that if you abandon your working class base, you no longer have a base. Trump was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and wants to pretend he is a blue collar billionaire.  Vance is the opposite.  He has hillbilly roots.  And he wants to pretend he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.   Where it all goes bad is that they really have no policies for the working class.  There is a sentiment, for sure.  But JD got rich and powerful sucking up to Silicon Valley types.  And those are the people getting the tax cuts, and the government contracts.  It's an inside game.  Sure, they will throw "no taxes on tips" in.  And pander to the anti-choice and pro-gun crowd.  But it's not a government by and for the working class.  If Democrats can reimagine what a 21st Century version of an FDR New Deal coalition looks like, JD and his ilk will be toast. We have plenty of viable models.  Newsom has done a California version of it well enough.  Beshear has done it in Kentucky.  Those two probably represent the ends of the ideological range that could win.  AOC or someone like her may take a run at it.  But I don't think there is a Democratic Party majority for democratic socialism.  In NYC, maybe.  But not in America.  Not yet, for sure.  Give America a Great Depression and that could change.  🫢 There is no question that White resentment channels into this, when you are posting  memes of a Black POTUS as an ape. That said, I still like @lookin's warnings from years ago the best.  There is a certain percentage of any population who are happy and even thrilled to be authoritarian followers.  And it works on the left as well, as Chavez and Maduro proved for a long time in Venezuela.  It falls apart when it becomes clearer and clearer that you can't deliver the goods.  You either then become a repressive regime, like Venezuela, or you get booted.   Trump would like America to be Venezuela.  That is our test.  Hopefully, both America and Venezuela come out of it as democracies who give freedom and prosperity to their citizens.    But don't hold your breath Sis.  Better to just enjoying eating some ass while we wait this out.  😁

Its moire than just bad taste.   Its a lack of common sense and reason,    Hell, even I know that when you EAT ASS, your put on a bib......  The lack of common sense  an need for " racist fantasy"  is what drives the 30% of Trump ass lickers.  I doubt we will ever be able to overcome that ?   Perhaps if JD Maybelline becomes President the racism angle will subside because his wife and kids are BROWN..... Worst case:  JD ditches Usha and hooks up with Erika Kirk, for that ultra WHITE nationalist goal and continues and escalates Trumps legacy.....   But I dont think Vance can ever become the ICON that Trump is ?      Perhaps The Devil Miller ?

True.  But having been raised in a tasteful family, we have always carried the burden of knowing some people just have bad taste!  😉
