Part 2 Writing this trip report has proven to be quite the challenge. Balancing daily activities with the need to have fun, reflect on experiences, and put thoughts to paper has left me significantly behind schedule. Upon returning to my hotel from Hotmale , I was eagerly looking forward to succumbing to the embrace of jetlag-induced sleep. However, my hopes were dashed as I discovered that my room was plagued by an annoying noise coming from the balcony, which to my horror ,housed the condenser units of adjacent rooms. I endured the disturbance for the night and approached the hotel staff the next day. Thankfully, they promptly assigned me a much quieter and better room. Having to repack and move was a hassle given that I have nested a fair bit with my stuff already scattered everywhere in the room. Once settled in my new room, I received a message from Jake, a Philipino MB I met from a previous trip. Given this trip is unplanned, it turned out that he'll be in Bangkok as well but with friends and a week later than my arrival. We agreed to have his incoming flight rebooked so that we can meet for a few days before he set off with his mates. Too much drama with this rebooking as I can't use my credit card to pay. Jake said that in Manila, sometimes the airline will look for the card used to pay for the flight during check-in. And he can be deplaned if he's not able to produce it. Still I can't see the logic . Must be an anti fraud thing Deciding to fill my time, I ventured to Platinum Mall in search of souvenirs and treats to bring back home. Although the mall's offerings remained largely unchanged, I managed to find a few trinkets and enjoy a meal at the Foodcourt on the top floor. Opting for a change of pace, I hopped on the BTS to Saphan Kwai station and decided to try out 15M. I was asked to remove my footwear before climbing up the second level. I was expecting to be given slippers at this point but was shocked to learn that I will be barefoot the entire time. Some masseurs are in the reception and while I am browsing the menu, noted how much photo enhancement were done to the photos they send to clients. Generally I found the massage experience to be underwhelming, questioning the value of opting for the longer 1.5-hour session as the quality seemed lacking. As evening approached, I made my way to Dreamboys, only to notice a significant reduction in the lineup compared to my previous visit. Disheartened by the sparse lineup and boring atmosphere, I made a swift exit, seeking a livelier alternative. I then marched straight to Screwboys, where I encountered many familiar faces missing from Dreamboys. It was a full on contingent on a small cramped stage. I was pleased to spot Mai among the performers, his boyish and manly charm is always a welcome sight. Among the performers, I invited and struck up a conversation with Boy, a Vietnamese who used to work at dreamboys, who surprisingly remembered our previous encounter (complete with details!)After enjoying the show, I proposed spending more time together, although Boy expressed his fatigue (not enough sleep for two days) and suggested a short time. I responded saying that I am in the same situation as him and may be asleep way before he did. We agreed, settled my bill and made our way to the hotel.

Hi there - here's a quick summary, I'll try to put together more later. Thank you to everyone for their advice and input, all of it was helpful. BKK - I was only there two nights so didn't have chance to experience much. I went to Obsession (ladyboy bar) and found it a bit intimidating. I think it must have been a quiet night as I was surrounded! I had more luck off ThaiFriendly and Grindr (for boys and ladyboys). A had one great session with a boy who came to my hotel - very hot and active both ways. Around 2K including tip. Pattaya - had a couple of ladyboy encounters from bars with rooms on site, on Soi 6. One great, one less so. Both around 1.5k. One guy at my hotel which was pretty good and one boy in his room who was super hot. Both from Grindr. The area around Jomtien beach has plenty of bars, but I didn't like them much. But that's just personal taste - there were loads of hot boys around. I also went to Sansuk sauna - it was ok, but not brilliant. I'll definitely be back!

This has been very typical for choral performances in the US and abroad. for many, many years. It's not at all "PC" or "nutty." Deaf people are quite fond of music -- for its vibrations and rhythm. Depending on the level of hearing loss, there might be some remaining capabilities to hear melodic sound. You should ask your deaf friends whether they've been to such performances with ASL interpreters. Also ask them who in the deaf community would welcome that type of enhancement. Finally, chorus members have deaf friends. An invitation to their concert with ASL interpretation would be much appreciated as a generous and understanding gesture.

I guess two main reason, human trafficking and the cost needed to fly them back home if caught. when minimum tip is listed , unless boy himself raised issue by asking for more for doing this or that, that minimum is what is expected , even in higher rend places like Jey Spa. Not that they throw back bahts at you if you tip them more. If you are happy, specially if you think you will see boy again feel free to tip more to show he did good job. I think the Thai Ministry of Tourism should toss this forum a commission for all the spur-of-the-moment trips it inspires. I mean, who wouldn't feel a twinge of envy and rush to book a trip after scrolling through those Thailand adventures and tips written here? So, there I was, bitten by the travel bug, and voila! ------ found myself booking an unplanned trip to the land of smiles. Touching down in Bangkok after a longer than usual stopover in Taiwan, I braced myself for the infamous immigration snake lines. But despite the full queues, every counter was promptly manned, and I breezed through. Maybe because cause of the build up in immigration, baggage claim took less than a minute, thanks to my luck and eagle eyes spotting my luggage as soon as I approached the carousel. Sorted out some cash and a SIM card, then off to my pre-booked pickup. As I got whisked off from my pickup point, I was hit with that warm, unmistakable Bangkok air, making me buzz with excitement and giddiness for the adventures ahead. Hotel check-in was expected to be a breeze, yet I found myself low-key panicking as my card repeatedly acted up declining the transaction. It finally dawned on me that I had forgotten to adjust the low maximum spend setting—a habit whenever I travel. The allocated room seemed reasonable initially, but its issues became apparent later. After showering off my jetlag, I hailed a taxi for my pre-booked appointment at S'sense Spa in Suan Plu. Knott was still at the spa and appeared delighted to see me. Upon asking if he really remember me, he promptly identified me by removing my socks pointing at my ankle tattoo, a gesture that left me both shocked and impressed. The quality of my session with Knott, both massage and cheeky extras, remained consistently good as I remembered. This explains my choice of S'sense as my first stop—a reassuring and safe start to the trip, saving the fun experimentation, risks, and disappointments for later. Following purchase of supplies and stocking the fridge, jetlag began to rear its ugly head. Nevertheless, I resolved to push through and explore Silom. To my disappointment, Tawan remained shuttered, prompting me to wax nostalgic reminiscing nights spent there, particularly recalling that going to Tawan was my first foray into Silom nightlife. My first ever off was with Tawan's hunky Lek, given my hotel was close by (the now defunct Glitz). Although tempted to inquire about familiar faces nearby, shyness prevailed, fearing potential embarrassment if they were not from Tawan. I strolled towards Hotmale, noted a familiar performance and lineup except for a cute, smiling hunk whom I promptly invited to join me. He's from Myanmar and only been working there for four months. He has a very sweet and friendly demeanour. Being a rookie, he seems to be very dependent on translation apps. I typically don't mind language barriers, often finding them endearing and cute. But given my fatigue from travel and jetlag, I decided to listen to my body and give tonight a pass. I bid him farewell with a bit generous tip, sincerely promising to return. And that, folks, is how I ended up with no off on my first night in Bangkok!

Sorry to be blunt. But mainstream Republicans seem to be disgusted by Trump bowing down to Putin and sucking his cock. Johnson's margin drops to one vote as Gallagher heads for early exit It would be a lot like Trump and MAGA to have an unplanned train wreck, just because everything Trump touches dies. But I have a feeling this may be an organized train wreck. First Ken Buck announced a few weeks ago that he would leave the House early, giving Johnson a two vote majority. At the time there was some article suggesting as many as five more House Republicans could leave early. I just assumed that was journalistic masturbation. But two weeks later, now it's a one vote majority. Both Buck and Gallagher cited Congressional dysfunction, including the dysfunction and election denialism in their own party when they decided to quit. Gallagher stands out as one of the leading critics of China and its alliance with Russia. He is a strong advocate of funding for Ukraine. For a principled mainstream conservative Republican who believes the defense of democracy and our allies is as important as breathing air, this makes sense. There is no particular reason for any retiring member of Congress to leave early, or immediately. Unless it is their health or a new job. That's not the case with either Buck or Gallagher. If anything, party loyalty would suggest that since their party's majority is razor thin, they would stick around. So something is probably going on behind the scenes. They may be using the razor thin majority as a razor, it seems. Unrelated but perhaps related, Democrats are saying that they will save Johnson's speakership if needed, in return for one thing: a House vote on aid to Ukraine. Whether it was his intention or not, Gallagher leaving in a few weeks puts more pressure on Johnson to schedule that vote. This can't be helping the Republican cause to keep a House majority. Or win a Senate majority. Even people who don't follow politics - meaning most people - get some sense that since the Republicans took over the House it is a freak show. And this means that more and more of the non-MAGA Republicans who favor bipartisan compromise are gone. Not to mention Reaganesque goals like promoting democracy and defending allies.

Last night I went to see the Gay Men's Chorus here in LA with a fairly large group of friends (12). As the chorus were singing, there was an American Sign Language interpreter on the side of the stage interpreting the words being sung. We were in the balcony, and the group tickets were $65 a pop with a group discount. I can't imagine a deaf man would ever buy tickets to a chorus performance, and I would consider offering a ticket to a deaf friend as insensitive--and downright insulting. Am I missing something, or is having an ASL translator at a chorus rather nutty?

hi guys, I've just arrived in Rio. Everything's smooth and sweet domestic flight . I had a blast in São Paulo, and now I'm in Rio, although I arrived kind of late. I went straight to 117 since the Point 202 is closed on Sundays. So far, so good. I'm getting used to the sauna layout. I've already seen some beautiful GP, but I'm just checking things out and getting used to the place. It's a plus to have such hot guys around on a Sunday this late. I'll be staying in Rio until Sunday, then heading back to São Paulo for a couple of dates. It's raining in Rio, which kind of defeats the purpose, but the guys are so hot that I do t care. From The Thaiger Egyptian man damages Phuket taxi in violent outburst An Egyptian traveller was taken into protective custody at a hospital following a violent outburst which caused significant damage to a taxi in Bang Tao, Phuket, yesterday. The taxi driver, 53 year old Suriya Plodmai reported to the police that he had picked up the 31 year old Egyptian national, Basem Aly Ismail, from the Patong area and was ferrying him to Bang Tao, with the fare agreed at 450 baht. Upon reaching the destination, Ismail borrowed Suriya’s mobile phone to make a call to a friend. However, after using the phone, he refused to return it to the driver. In a sudden fit of anger, the Egyptian smashed the borrowed phone onto another phone that the taxi driver was holding, resulting in both devices, a Xiaomi 12 and a Samsung A54, being damaged. The rage did not end there. Ismail then used an iron rod to vandalise the taxi cab. The damage included a shattered windshield, broken windows, and a damaged rear windshield, with additional damage to surrounding areas of the vehicle. Emergency services from Cherng Talay Municipality arrived at the scene and took the Egyptian, who was still in an agitated state, to Thalang Hospital. Later, he was transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital, reported Phuket News.

Draden’s 3rd question posed above: My observations on Airbnb: Where possible, I often take Airbnb lodgings particularly for longer trips. This winter I booked 30 nights in a large one-bedroom apartment. It was decent, well-managed, excellent location easily walkable to the Silom/Surawong area action. I also took a nice hotel room for the trip for entertaining without any valuable belongings to worry about, with bottomless towel supply options, and without dealing with the impossibility of sleeping with the usual paper-thin walls and constant inconsiderate slamming of doors that typically occurs in hotels. There would not have been a problem bringing guests, within reason, to the Airbnb condo. My “trainer” came up a few times. I don’t do overnights with guests. I was to check in on the 4th day as I technically needed 27 nights but I aligned with the one-month guideline. There is a lengthy thread here from around March 2023 on this subject. The “Superhosts” objected to the add-on because they thought it was unfair and unnecessary. Their point was that it’s up to me but they preferred to not take the extra fee needlessly. I had raised my concerns regarding lodgings regulations and they proclaimed that they were not operating outside of guidelines. Most of the many stellar reviews appeared to be short period stays. They capitulated to my insistence. There were no hassles whatsoever. Key pickup was from the reception staff and there was no prohibitive sign anywhere. I needed a few minor items for the kitchen and the hosts ordered them online and communicated with reception for delivery and pickup. Reception clearly knew I was a farang. I had even printed off the contract in case airport immigration were to have grilled me but it was stamp-and-go. The building had a few shops in the lobby. Other buildings in the area were similarly structured with mini-malls and some had Airbnb logo signs prominently displayed. In October the national Hotel Act regulations were revised. A lot of dwellings qualify for hotel licensing exemption and hosts can apply formally using an online form. The room threshold was lifted from 4 to 8. The examples include villas, tents, rafts, and shipping containers. (Note that shipping containers were part of Qatar’s World Cup accommodations options). Condo apartments are neither listed as an example nor excluded. Clearly the aim is greater flexibility. Some cities globally require that hosts must reside in the unit as a principal residence and only let their unit when they are willing and able to vacate it. Such a stipulation does not exist in Thailand. My sense is that condominium directorship boards can nevertheless trump the above workaround and behave as a separate entity to restrict short-term rentals. My advice, then, is to clarify with an Airbnb host that they are not operating under the radar … that they have formally sought and obtained permission for the hotel license exemption, that the building has not imposed restrictions, and that they are operating within any requirements regarding lodgings inspection, income subject to tax, VAT obligations, etc.

I'm bit surprised by that statement. As I said above , based on my experience , minimum tip is what they expect unless they in no uncertain terms ask for more . adding 10-20% ie 100 or 200 baht is pretty generous. Boys are as much used to stingy as to money thrower farangs, I don't think they would consider one who tips stated minimum stingy though. At end of day is up to client to see how much is deserved. Service may be poor but feel good factor may be tip determining factor.

The decline in the Pattaya gay scene has been documented at length in these pages . So the question is whether it is an enjoyable place for gay men who enjoy the delights of Asian guys to visit for a short vacation or a long stay ? i am nearly at the end of two week stay and have very much enjoyed my visit. The two hotels I have used have been excellent, particularly the Classroom, on the edge of BT, where I stayed for my first week, moving on only because I prefer a resort hotel with a swimming pool in which I like to take exercise. Pattaya is still fantastic value for money, in respect of hotels, meals and of course boys. I’ve enjoyed the unbroken sunshine which has done a lot for my morale after 4 months of the British gloomy wet winter. I have used Grindr to make contact and whilst it has faults It did deliver 4 separate boys, who by and large I enjoyed in my bed. One I kept for two nights and visited with him the gay Dongtan beach plus bars during the day in between. I also offed two (twinks) from The Complex and one from Winner. Another gorgeous guy I met on a Bart bus in transit to Jomtien when he jumped on a short distance from commencement and gave me his telephone number. If I had more time I would certainly have made a side trip to Bangkok, and I expect to do that dusting my next visit later in the year.

I’m glad I experienced Pattaya in the period 2002 to 2006, when I was young enough to take full advantage. Now in 2024 I have found Boyztown has only two functioning gogos and Sunee is like a Western ghost town. The busy Jomtien Complex on the other hand is like attending the United Nations with boys (many twinks) from all parts of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, possibly Vietnam but I have not not come across one from there. Expertise using Google Translate is an important skill when trying to communicate especially as many seem to have only recently arrived in Thailand. Last night I could not make much progress when trying to talk to a Burmese boy as there does not seem to be an English - Burmese google facility, but maybe I didn’t look hard enough. Likewise the customers are drawn from virtually all parts of the first world (Europe, Australasia, USA/Canada) and many appear to be taking vacations from their retirement homes. The Dongtan Beach gay section is flourishing despite reports of its death. I have enjoyed over several days the confortable chairs, good food/drinks service, and the wonderful weather. The few older ladies encroaching do not detract from the ambiance, but only one or two customers were accompanied by their young boyfriends.

For those that asked, here you go. Sauna Cruising Fusion Carrera 45D #57 – 44 (barrio El Centro) Despite comments posted here, this remains the most popular sauna in Medellín in 2024. You will generally find a lineup to get in after 6pm here most weeknights since this place has the afterwork crowd on lock. This facility was opened only 3 years ago, so it is in very good condition and kept very clean. There is a large Roman-bath soaker, steam room, sauna and a pool. A billard room and two bars. There is also outdoor space with loungers if you like to get in some au natural sunbathing. This area gets particularly busy after dark. There is a dark room-labyrinth, a theatre showing porn, several public cabins with glory holes, plus private cabins with tvs (porn). This sauna does not offer massage service. The crowd here comes to play and there are breakout group sessions are common around the space. A good mix of professionals, working class and students, this is probably the best looking/fittest crowd consistently in the city. The parking lot is full of motos by 5pm. Surprisingly quiet on Sundays when other nearby saunas host events – have never seen a promotion event at Sauna Cruising. This is definitely the horniest scene in Medellín currently. This space has had a hard time finding its crowd in neighbourhood where you can find eight saunas within a 10 minute walk. Best day is Sunday when they run promotions (strippers and live sex shows) or duing holidays/special events. Valentine’s Day (Feb 14) was packed this year. Busiest day is Saturday when they host Rumba Total – a weekly event with entertainment (strippers) and open bar. There is no massage service here. Taking over where Club de Tobi (RIP) left off, Club 55 features massage service with two massage rooms on the second floor. However of late the service seems intermittent so take you chances if this is your motivation. The attendents can be found by the pool/bar area when not busy. The club has two floors, with a sauna, jacuzzi, pool and bar on the main floor. The second floor hosts a labyrinth (glory holes and private rooms) and steam room which get very busy. There is a small gym on the second floor. The crowd is a mix of younger and older that tends to taper off by 7:30pm so get there early.
