  1. Love to see a couple of the Winner boys dancing wearing jocks in the picture . Over the years I’ve always believed that in gogos this garb should be a sexy variation from briefs. I usually bring a selection of jocks when I make a trip to Pattaya for my “boyfriends” to wear in my room before sex.

  2. It's immigration that bugs me as a UK guy. The US is quite behind in using electronic monitoring, such as we have in the UK. I recently discovered the MPC App, which did speed up my 2 recent entries, but it could be a lot better. I considered Global Entry, but the procedure, including an interview in the USA, is inconvenient. I have also found that officials still like to throw their weight around, on minor matters, 'stand in line', etc. As you say it all detracts from the experience of travel.

  3. I always get sick in my second week in Rio. My last time out was Monday. Since Tuesday, I have been suffering some kind of respiratory infection, other than COVID, I am testing negative. Anyways, just in case, I did not want to go around infecting others and I did not even feel in the mood to go out or have sex. It was hard not to go to Point yesterday. Last night was the first night I slept comfortably, and today I spent the day with I since 10am, to celebrate his 23rd birthday. I do not feel yet as to have sex, so we just shared quality time together, and he prepared another churrasco, the boy is a master at the grill. He just left with all our leftovers (food, weed, and Bacardi), to celebrate with his friends tonight. I will stay home tonight to finish recovering. I am leaving tomorrow morning.

  4. From The Nation Anzac Day was marked on Thursday with special remembrance rites in Kanchanaburi, honouring soldiers who died building the Death Railway in slave-like conditions during World War II. Presiding over the ceremony were Australian Ambassador Angela Macdonald, her New Zealand counterpart Jonathan Kings along with deputy chief of Australia’s Joint Operations, Rear Admiral Justin Jones. Also present were representatives of the Thai armed forces, other embassies as well as descendants of the prisoners of war who lost their lives on the Death Railway. The event was held at the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum. The first Anzac Day was held in 1915 in honour of members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (Anzac), who fought in the Gallipoli Campaign during World War I, which resulted in heavy casualties on both sides. Now, Anzac Day is marked on April 25 every year, and has been expanded to honour all Australians and New Zealanders “who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations". It also recognises the contribution of veterans and those currently serving. In his speech, Jones said it was an honour to participate in the ANZAC Day remembrance at the Hellfire Pass, which was part of the Death Railway, where some 12,800 prisoners of war and 90,000 Asian workers were killed. Macdonald said the rite was to remember and honour Australian troops who have sacrificed their lives to serve and protect the country, while Kings remembered New Zealand troops who died fighting for peace. He wrapped up his speech by declaring “ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou” in Maori, meaning “we will remember them”.

  11. Last night we went to Point. I did not check before their IG, so I had a nice surprise. As today the locals celebrate a holiday, they had a special event with free feijoada, and the food was quite standard good. Besides that, the place was full of hot guys of all kinds looking for a programa. All the guys I have reported in my blog posts were there, with the exception of Jo, the Novinho my Number One is training. The atmosphere was sooooo good, the boys were sooooo friendly. I had the pleasure to finally meet the friend @Novarunner. We had been sharing boys for years now, and it was great to finally shake his hand. Of course, he left with J, an amazing boy I wrote about in my reports. Soon after they left, we followed them. I went back to my place with my boy I. We waited for his trainee, who came to my place after clocking out from the gas station he works at. I kicked out my boy and had a full programa alone with the Novinho. He was amazing, the second time he was taking dick and you should see how masterfully he rode it. He is joining the little group of my regulars.

  13. In Rio since last Saturday! I wrote a report but it is in Spanish, here it is in case you want to read it. https://ilikepinga.com/2024/04/16/lunes-en-point-202/ I am staying in a small airbnb in Copanema, with a cozy and private terrace featuring a jacuzzi and a bbq pit. The host is an American Black guy, a former NFL player, and the coolest host I ever had, communication has been great. I may disappoint you, @floridarob, as this year terrace is more private and, besides, I've learned my lesson and will not behave as an entitled asshole. The days have been great so far, fully sunny or cloudy but not a drop of rain. It is my first time in Ipanema, I have enjoyed a lot my walks around. I visited the Museu Histórico de Forte de Copacabana, probably one of the worst museums I have even been too. I did love to walk around the former fort itself. On Sunday I did my first attempt to hire from a website, as I was not in the mood to go out to a sauna after a long exploration of my neighborhood. A gorgeous man, but we had no chemistry and my dick did not get hard not even when he sucked it. Definitely, I am going through andropausia and just pictures or video are not enough to guarantee attraction. Fortunately, I went to Point last night and my unreliable dick delivered strong hard ons. The place was thriving with one of the most diverse GPs crowds I have ever seen, there even was a guy with only one leg. The ratio client/GP was very good for clients. I hooked with a BEAUTIFUL boy, he was 20 but looked like 17. We are planning a threesome at my place soon. I did not bring him to my airbnb yet. I met with my favorite boy from last trip and came to my airbnb, and also had a great time. Point's remodeling seems to be finished. They have two very nice new cabins where the smokers bar used to be, they assign me one of those. Instead of following the count up to identify the rooms, my cabin was "Siqueira Campos". I did not check the tag on the other cabin. There is still room for the washer and a couple of tables where the hopless smokers hang out. The atmosphere was amazing as usual, the reason why I prefer 202 over 117. It reminds me of those hooker houses for straight men that we see in the movies, with the hookers having fun and socializing with the clients diving in a party mood together. Very unlike 117. As I read (I think in CoM) that they are scamming clients overcharging us at check out, I was very careful to check my bill. It was spotless, and it would have been very tempting for a scammer to smuggle a false charge, as I had a lot of items. 6 caipirinhas, 1 jack Daniel, one red bull, one water, one cabin, one client ticket and one GP ticket, everything was slightly over 300 R.

  15. From CNN Airline canceled your flight? The plane arrived hours late after a maintenance issue? The inflight Wi-Fi didn’t work? New federal rules say travelers deserve cash refunds when inconvenienced by their airline – not vouchers or travel credits. The rules, announced by the Transportation Department on Wednesday, also require airlines to provide upfront information about fees for baggage and changing flights. Although many airlines have done away with change fees and disclose fees on their websites, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg estimated more transparency with some airlines and websites would make it easier for travelers to shop around – ultimately saving consumers millions every year. The rule would formalize a requirement that passengers receive refunds if a domestic flight is delayed by more than three hours or if an international flight is delayed by more than six hours. It would also require a refund of any baggage fees for bags that arrive more than 12 hours late, and a refund of the fee for a purchased service like Wi-Fi or upgraded seating if the airline doesn’t deliver. https://www.cnn.com/travel/new-federal-rules-airline-refunds-cash/index.html

  17. I just came back to The UK, through the 'new' terminal 8 at JFK. This amalgamated BA and American, and other airlines. Perhaps doubling the number of pax. As expected no provision had been made for this increase. And the security line was horrendous. The Fast track, to which I was entitled, had one security person, and a couple of hundred pax. To improve things, TSA approved went through, at the side, and joined the queue in front of us! In 15 mins, I moved 10 feet. Eventually, some of us were directed to to the cattle class line, which had 3 security people. We then all crammed into the lanes for the x-ray machines, only half of which were working! They had the old style, where you had to reach for a box to put your gear in. Absolute chaos, with the usual disinterested staff. Excellent way to spend an hour at the new flagship terminal! Contrast this with the new American terminal at LaGuardia, which is spacious and very nice. To be fair, at Heathrow, we landed early, BA, and then the airbridge did not work! Eventually steps were brought. However, despite the crowds, it was 6.45am, straight through passport control, using the machines!

Another of my favourite places! There's also a monkey temple near Ubud where the audacity of the inhabitants is remarkable; audacity and strength. I once saw a tug-of-war between an angry monkey and and even angrier Japanese tourist. The prize? A camera. The tourist won but the monkey escaped with a torn strap. Is this an Asian monkey "thing"? I remember being in Kenya long ago and monkeys used to roam the grounds of the bungalow-style hotel. However, they were relatively tame and would beg for food like dogs, although one did manage to get in to my room once. The Thai/Balinese ones seem particularly aggressive. And confident. Different species?

  19. Will weather or ATC be valid excuses against the refunds? Those do seem out of the airlines' control, unlike "maintenance," a frequently cited non-excuse. However, the weather or ATC excuses, I'd hope, would need to be validated.

  27. From VN Express Thai transgender beauty queen Kantong Passarapon attends the annual conscription event in April 2024. Photo from Passarapon's Instagram The South China Morning Post noted that Kerayuphan and Passarapon, both 21, attended the annual conscription event, held from April 1-12 this year, with the necessary certificates to seek exemption from military service. Their eye-catching presence at the recruitment center provoked a range of reactions online. "It feels like a beauty pageant rather than a conscription lottery site," one Instagram user remarked. "As a woman, I have a feeling of inferiority," another expressed. A student at Sripatum University in Bangkok and a campus ambassador, Kerayuphan has over 115,000 followers on Instagram. Endearingly referred to as the "Thai Bay Angel" by her admirers, Passarapon boasts an impressive record with approximately 100 pageant titles to her credit. She is currently studying at Suan Dusit University, as reported by Thaiger. According to Thai legal regulations, all men aged 21 are obligated to serve in the military, with a possible two-year service term if selected by a lottery during the conscription period. To determine their service obligation, eligible individuals draw cards from an opaque box – a red card signifies enlistment, while a black card means exemption. This year, the Thai army sought to enlist 40,000 of the 85,000 soldiers needed through this lottery system. Transgender women are eligible to request an exemption from military service by presenting a certificate of gender reassignment surgery, although they must still appear on the draft day.

  30. I woke up with a bit of a panic attack, realizing that the reason I initially opted for a short time is that I have an online work meeting scheduled for that morning. I sprinted out of bed, made my best effort to look human, pumped caffeine into my system, and managed to be in front of my laptop with a few minutes to spare. Everything was smooth sailing, with the only exception being that I kept getting distracted by the view of a gorgeous man lying on my bed, partially wrapped in a blanket. For a moment, Tan woke up, tried to get up, but when he saw what I was doing, he looked at me, smiled, and decided to continue his slumber. This is just so surreal for me. After that mad morning dash, I was ready to relax and retire back to bed. Tan, thinking I was waking him up, wrapped his arms around me, requesting a few more minutes, which I was happy to oblige. I think we slept for a good hour, as when we managed to go get breakfast, the buffet looked sad and deserted, so we decided to venture out. I think overall, hiring Tan was a good choice. Aside from his good looks and engaging personality, his English is reasonably okay, allowing us to have a conversation. One disappointing thing, though, was that he didn't initiate an extra round that morning (I was willing to pay extra but too shy to ask! Lol). By almost 12 p.m., he left, asking for a repeat performance. By midday, I was bored and running out of ideas to keep myself entertained. I then messaged S'sense asking if Knott is available, but unfortunately, he's not. After browsing through the roster, I settled on Singha. He's well-built and good-looking, so my excitement level went through the roof. I arrived in Suan Plu with a good half hour left before my appointment. I decided to cool off and have an iced coffee to kill time. An Amazon Cafe franchise could be seen a few meters away. Bad choice, as I learned the hard way. Nothing was wrong with their products, but for this small shop, the ground floor housed the ordering area, and you had to climb up the stairs to access the dining area. This is where things became interesting. The steepness of the stairs became the least of your concerns as the narrow steps and wobbly handrail became the prime challenge. I am not exaggerating, but my size EU42/US9 feet had to tiptoe sideways to manage each step as I climbed up. While having coffee, I was already shuddering at the thought of climbing down and was wondering how such structures could be granted consent - a question I answered myself: this is Thailand! After basically rappelling down the stairs, I was finally off to my rendezvous with Singha. Mr. S (the boss) also sent me a Line message, telling me to send him a message if I'm dissatisfied or if the masseur asked for more tip. I found this very reassuring, although I hoped the handsome Mr. S himself would do the massage! Upon entering, everything flowed like clockwork: drawing the privacy curtain, getting tea served, Singha removing my shoes and replacing them with indoor sandals. While I was enjoying my tea, he returned with a selection of oils and asked me to choose which one I preferred. While I didn't really care about oils, etc., I thought of going with the flow and sampled a couple before making my choice. In the room, I asked for hard pressure, which Singha happily obliged, with a request that I let him know right away if his pressure was too strong. A few minutes later, I could see why; his strokes were really good and robust, the type that you know will leave you sore (in a good way) the next day. As requested, he focused on my back and glutes, and it was heavenly. Then he climbed onto the massage bed and started doing a body-to-body massage. He then asked me to lie on my back and continued massaging with him on top of me. He kissed very passionately, and I got flustered every time he made eye contact, flashing his mischievous smile. I managed to work my way out, and with me on top, I took time to run my hands and enjoy his gorgeous body. We took turns, careful not to fall from the massage bed. When he couldn't take it anymore, he stood up and asked to be pleasured. I happily obliged, climbed out of the bed, and started working on him while kneeling down. After he climaxed and cleaned up, he proceeded to take care of me, with me finishing with our lips locked. It was intense. With around 30 minutes left, he carried on, finishing the rest of the massage. And this is the part that I love. Compared to most shops that quickly end the session after you climax, having extra time to enjoy and relish that "post-cum glow" while getting a massage is an experience in itself. Singha finished the massage with a kiss on my forehead - a nice touch. After the second round of tea and cookies in the reception area, my taxi arrived, ready to take me to Siam Paragon. While on my way, I received a message from T asking me to tell him if I'm coming to the bar tonight so that he can bring the shirt he wants me to have. I found the message strange and the intent hard to read. I responded that I still don't know what to do tonight, so I can't promise anything. He replied, saying that if we meet in the daytime, as long as he arrives at the bar by 8:30 p.m., I don't need to pay an off fee (hinting at a daytime meet-up). To be continued...

  32. From CNBC Bank of America is bearish on a slew of Asian currencies and neutral at best on others, as the investment bank says it is the start of a “chaotic era.” “We are not bullish on any currency in Asia,” Bank of America said in a recent report, with many currencies impacted by a delayed Federal Reserve easing cycle and sustained strength in the U.S. dollar The investment bank singled out the Chinese yuan, South Korean won, Taiwan dollar, Thai baht and Vietnamese dong under its bearish category. Among their “neutral” list of currencies are the Hong Kong dollar, the Indonesian rupiah, the India rupee, the Malaysian ringgit, the Philippine peso and the Singapore dollar. 36. here my answers: 1. since I stay in the area rarely I need transport to hotel and legend that boys are reluctant to walk is gross exaggeration . For going back I almost never give money understanding and if they ask, explaining that they got enough already. When one boy protested he doesn't have 'small money' i pulled wad of few red notes and offered to change brown bill. Shockingly he did not take an offer, ever more shockingly since then we met at last 5 times and he never asked for tax money. 2.I almost never tip mamasan , exceptions are if they were helping to translate, rarely necessary or I know mamasan for long time( like Lucy at Banana or Screwboys mamasan ) and I'm in spending mood or I asked mamasan to bring boy who is not working today, in short once every two trips. 3. that may happen but even if I dint not like boy much I would consider that money well spent 4. 127.38% agreed, for me main advantage of long time is to wake up in the morning next to warm body with dick firmly attached. It's why I hate when they deprive me that small life pleasure by asking to go home earlier

  37. New report written in Spanish. https://ilikepinga.com/2024/04/21/asado-carioca/ I am having an amazing time, as usual. In that post I share about a churrasco at my airbnb with three boys. One of them, brought by my Number One, I had never met before and was an amazing surprise. He is interested in becoming a GP, although his full time job in a gas station is a challenge as he is only available on Fridays. He had his first experience as a bottom, fucked by my boy while I was fucking our third guest. HOT. Tomorrow I am bringing him to my place after he clocks out. Not only is he impressively beautiful, besides he is smart, curious, and sweet. That was Friday. Afterwards we went to Point, Bingo Night, but it was a fiasco and we ran away after our second round of caipirinhas. The friend @Novarunneris also here. We have coincided in fucking some boys, but we have not yet met. Yesterday I did not go out, but stay home with my favorite boy. Today I am resting and writing. Tomorrow my vacation is over and my teleworking starts.

  42. Part 2 It being Easter weekend, I had to take an early morning Sunday flight back to Rio rather than my preferred Wednesday afternoon. I felt tired from the flight and defeated from the guy the night before. I had basically 3 1/2 days left. But the show must go on…after a fairly good garotocomlocal, I headed to 117 on Easter night. It was predictably slow, there was one guy with a beautiful body (a very small waist and very broad shoulders by my definition) that I had seen around. Unsolicited by even eye contact he came over to talk to me, and spoke very thoughtfully slow, with the result that I was actually understanding most of the conversation (by comparison the very tall guy I spoke of earlier we celebrated when I largely understood a 30 second snipet). He was nice and sweet, but somehow I thought he would be a boring fuck. He did start to kiss me, and even when he confirmed, as I suspected, that he wouldn’t do condomless (not that night anyway) [another teaser], and said, not very confidently that he was hung around 20, I thought at least I would like kissing him for half an hour. After nearly an hour of beautiful eye-contact kissing, the latter half combined with many of my favorite positions which many guys have trouble staying hard for, ( his 20+ cm, very thick, irrepressibly hard) I proposed we continue at my place. I offered 300/hour with the idea that he would stay multiple hours until I wore him out. He stayed 2 1/2 for really lovely wonderful lovemaking, if I dare call it that. Monday I had a guy I’ve known for years and is reliably good come over. He was supposed to come at 3 and stay several hours, but he didn’t show up til almost 6, and not only did I want to see last nights guy again, but there was also a guy from garotocomlocal (or actually, I think it was prazerbrasil, another site) Disastrous, must’ve been on drugs, didn’t want to kiss, could get no semblance of an erection, got dizzy getting up from bed. Regrettably these sites only accept positive reviews, rendering the reviews pointless. I don’t know if there is a spot on this site to promote the good and even more importantly, warn of the bad. The guy from the previous night was ready earlier but when I delayed he went to workout and I think we were both a little tired by the time he came over. Also with all this beautiful kissing I wonder if I am bringing a sort of lesbian bed death upon myself. But still a lovely experience. Stayed just over an hour. The next day being Tuesday, of course I wanted to have my cake and eat it too, so we made plans for him to come over after the 117. When it rains it pours. As soon as I arrived shortly after 5, I saw a sort of new and improved version of him (and he was pretty good to start with!) The new one was taller, with a more handsome face, albeit maybe mid-30s rather than mid-20s (which I’m fine with.) He ignored several glances that other GPs would’ve jumped on. Finally I approached him as much as he approached me. He was in the category of the maybe 10% of guys I don’t even ask their endowment or if they bbk, so good that whatever it may be they’re serving up, I want it. And what a fine meal he was serving. Normally when I go over the time limit on the room I argue nicely (typically they waive it if only because they know me) This one I was just glad I was only charged one extra period. It’s hard to say who was the best kisser, they both were so fervent and passionate. The first guy kisses with his eyes open and smiles sometimes which makes for an amazing (sense of?) connection. The second one, although he kisses with his eyes closed, if your lips should stray from his, he immediately chases them down. The first guy has a very large and thick “standard” dick, that pretty much stays rock hard without any friction, while the second one has an extraordinarily thick one with this like quarter inch thick foreskin that seems rather coarse, calloused almost, not smooth and supple. Maybe because he is older or maybe just because the circulatory system is just not set up to deliver to the genitals the large volume of blood that would be required, his hardon is rather “fragile” and he seemed to be able to get it fairly hard only for the all-4s position (my least favorite, with nothing to look at but the pillow) and he would loose it in other positions we tried. My solution: Viagra and PreP, so I will have to work on these next trip. So that was Tuesday at the 117, wait for a room was surprisingly brief. (The previous Tuesday was an even stranger situation where there were only a few hot guys, all of whom white, leaving the guys looking for hot guys of any race competing with those seeking hot white guys, with the result that those few were run ragged, but unprecedentedly in my recollection, no wait for a room at any point.)

  43. The Anniversary Party at Winner Bar attracted many Farang and Thais plus a great abundance of tasty food. The go-go dancers mixed with the customers and entertained them with their distinctive attire at the outdoor premises. Some customers did eventually wander to the interior to further chat and drink with the dancers. A successful party for all.

  44. Beitou “gay spa” area is developed with nice walking paths (thermal geo park). But its much more interesting to explore thermal waters in the pools of Emperor Spa. Access from the city is easy by combining metro and local bus (google maps has schedules). Get off the bus when single or groups of twinks or hunks leave the bus (stop called Xinqyi rd 4, displayed in the bus) and follow them down the hill. Or use maps. Price is unchanged 250, mandatory nudity. In the pools you can always spot few guys who could work for exclusive underwear magazine and quite a few guys who have good potentials. The spa is very cruisy, especially later in the evening when the few families are gone. The steam room has a big sign “no sexual harassment”, I was enjoying the steam (very hot btw) and was soon sexually harrased - excessive inappropriate touching! We then proceeded to my hotel to finalize the paperwork for the crime committed. To be fair, he made sure I see him, before he touched me. The hooligan was 28 years old insurance accountant. Nicely cut short hair, nice pecs, cute face and likes kissing and fucking. Be aware! I invited him for a second interrogation. The spa is open 24 h, the last bus leaves the spa around 11 pm. By 10 pm the crowds where thin. Still, 10pm new people arrived.

  45. material value was that it was likely cheaper than taking my own tuk-tuk , but when all that waiting and driving to pick up and distribute people is accounted for probably it would be better to fork extra 5-10$ and doing it by private tour. Movie played in the van was excellent though. Visiting in neither place is nothing pleasant, I still did not brave myself to repeat visit to Tuol Sleng after my first one in 2001 but next time I will go. when I was there then they still had that infamous map of Cambodia made of skulls, hence removed due to intranational outcry and rightly so. Still it's a must if one wants to understand Cambodia history. It needs to be appreciated that they are not trying to hide anything but when you see somebody like 70-75 on the road you wonder where they were in say 1977, toiling under the sun or killing or both. Hotel jumping to collect people is inevitable part of most tours everywhere also I always ask it there's place I can go and board the bus / van. Sometimes we may have luck like me on Phuket later on, all participants were from only 3 hotels , all in very close proximity at Patong so it took perhaps lass than 10 mins to have everybody on the board.

  46. Day 12 Today we repeated yesterday’s morning routine, breakfast was quite pleasant affair as I noticed few other patrons including few young girls were following S when he was picking his food and drinks and I swear I was object of their jealousy having landed such handsome guy in jeans showing quite a nice bulge. Doubt anybody was thinking ‘ oh that’s is guy with his grandson” . I did not mind S sending some smiles toward those girls fully knowing who winner is, let them have it. Today’s destination is Sambor Prey Kuk, temple complex predating Angkor with most temples made not of stone but of bricks from 7th century on, located near Khompong Thom , half way to Phnom Penh. It took us 3 hours to get there. Entry is 10$ , they suggested hiring guide for the same amount and I agreed . She even dragged with her another girl- guide in training. Having guide there is good idea as objects are dispersed in the forest , trails are well marked but still on you own one may miss this or that. It took us about 3 hours to visit every corner, I tipped that trainee 5$ then we went to local restaurant for a meal , 16.50 $ for three, not a bad deal . Again long trip home , fortunately today Saturday traffic was quite light and it was driver suggestion we go there on Saturday as he was afraid Sunday traffic will be heavier. At home S suggested artistic part – dinner with Apsara traditional dance show on Pub Street so we went there. I like when my travel companions have own ideas not only asking “what we are doing now ? ”. At the table beside us young farang couple was sitting and I noticed both of them were paying an attention to S presence . Bit later when we had chance meeting on the street they even said " Hi " to him ignoring me entirely. You can't imagine how my fragile ego was hurt at that moment I meantime S got message from his bar friend , Siem Reap native, who came to see his folks at home and when he show me his picture it turned out I also know him from 2 long time offs, one threesome included. So we went to see him , he was dining with another boy and somebody suggested ‘lets go check Barcode “. I offered to finance that escapade but at the door we were sent away- today bar closed for some private function. Other two boys said they are going to bed and that was idea S and I borrowed from them so we parted ways every couple marching to different bed. I had another senior moment – why I did not suggest “ lets go all to our room”. Knowing that friend there was chance idea would be approved. Oh well. S and me still managed to had some fun including feasting on some pistachios and fruit while sitting naked on balcony right above hotel’s pool closed at that hour.

  47. Day 11 We raised to the sound of alarm clock at 6.45, prepared goods for today’s sightseeing and made sure to be first when they started serving breakfast in hotel at 7.30 because as suspected, my driver pulled in at 8 am on the dot. Plan for today was ambitious with 7 temples and first we set off was the farthest from the list- Banteai Srei. Not only because I consider smart thing to start sightseeing from most distant place just in case something happens and even more important, Banteai Srei is only temple where you can buy Angkor ticket apart from official ticket selling office on outskirts of Siem Reap. There are 3 kinds of tickets available – 1 day for 37 $, 3 days within 10 days for 62$ and 7 days within 30 days for 72 $. Payment in dollars only , that was only place where they are not accepting riels. I opted for 3 days ticket because after tomorrow I’m planning Bang Melea temple and recent change was to remove separate ticket there and include it in Angkor ticket. Good news for some and not so good as we learn for others. Another bonus of Banteai Srei ticket office was that there we no lineups. That temple is one of smallest Angkor temples but definitely most richly decorated and also one of most popular so it pays to be there early which we could appreciate when leaving and hordes in vans and tour buses start arriving. Next one is along with Ta Som my favorite -Banteai Samre. It’s quite a distance from main complex and one of least crowded. When I was there in 2001 there was no infrastructure there at all but now there are restaurants , toilets, souvenir stands and even guys playing Khmer music for donation. Often overlooked there is former ceremonial alley leading to the temple – on your left when you approach temple complex . Third one was of course Ta Som, at end of complex there gate enveloped by the tree , one of those iconic Angkor places. Again , in 2001 that tree was not trimmed yet, whet we see now is later job. If you are there make sure to go to the very end and then turn back to appreciate the sight. I stress it because I saw people missing it ‘ lets return , it’s only that small gate there” . Then Easten Mebon as I missed her in 2022 and lunch in some restaurant picked by driver which was not a good idea to leave that to him. He led us to typical crowded and overpriced tourist locale geared toward bus tours. Not that is busted my wallet but there are plenty of places I’d chose instead. After lunch we did three biggies ; Ta Prohm famous for giant trees eating into ruins but also I suspect holding them together. Then Bayon with hundreds of stone faces with mysterious smile and to crown of today’s selection Angkor Wat itself , biggest and most magnificent of them all. S, my guy as I expected was ideal tour companion, interested in sightseeing with none of those ‘ are we done already ? ” . Quite opposite after climbing highest level of Angkor and subsequent wandering through all level below I was ready to skip first floor galleries only to hear ‘ what ?, lets go”. It was really uplifting to see guy so interested in his country heritage. After such busy and intensive day we returned to the room quite tired. After it got dark we picked up ourselves to go for dinner and then, I swear it was not me, S suggested we go to 168 massage for massage. So we did . My boy was quite good and good looking too. Later and in the room I senses bit of jealousy ,S asking what we did to each other with the boy and visibly not believing my answers. Massage was 10$ for 1 hr, I tipped my guy 20$, S tipped his only 6$ but he was adamant it was nothing that just massage even if I did not really care having good idea how those stores are operating. Then he had another idea – to check Barcode bar so we went there but it was bit too early with only few patrons and working boys. We had drink and returned home . No need for me to stay and watch he show when I have in my room guy better looking that their selection, not to mention of tested quality.

    Taipei Info/Tips?

I am presently in Taipei for a week. Normally friends and I will go to the gayish hot spring Huang Tzu on a Friday evening or occasionally a Sunday afternoon which are almost always busy times. Yesterday (Saturday) I had free time in the late afternoon before a late dinner. So I decided to go to the hot spring at 5:00 pm for a couple of hours. It was absolutely jam-packed! All the lockers were taken and the pools were full of mostly cute/handsome young guys in the late teens-40 range I guessed. I had assumed 5:00 pm would be a sort of intermediate time with the afternoon ‘shift’ getting ready to leave and those coming for the evening arriving around 7:00 pm. Not at all! Very few left and the sight of so many handsome mostly in-shape guys was as usual great. Even the steam room was packed most of the time, bodies glued almost to bodies! With the weather becoming cooler, I guess it will be like this over much of the ‘winter’. Can’t wait for my next trip in February after Chinese New Year.

    Taipei Info/Tips?

I don't know any of the 3 star hotels that have what I would call a good breakfast. These hotels mostly cater for Taiwanese and so best to look at a good western chain hotel. But I know none near Ximending. @a447 recommends the Westgate. Just looking at the photos of the dining area, it seems quite small and I suspect - and I hope @a447 will correct me if I am wrong - that the breakfast will not be similar to a tradional western breakfast, even though it has an egg station. Wth comfort and a hearty breakfast as essentials, I would certainly give up the idea of staying in Ximending and recommend the Courtyard Downtown Hotel. You will absolutely adore the breakfast!!
